Dogfish Head Chicory Stout.
5.2 % ABV, 21 IBU, Dogfish Head Brewery, Milton, Delaware.
Thorough darkness, utterly black, lush cocoa-tinged head.
In the nose: nutty, creamy, slight roast. Nice.
In the mouth: full-bodied, rich, smooth. So smooth. Super smooth. Creamy, nutty, slightly spicy. Touch of sweetness. Lightly bitter. This I can dig.
A dark beer made with a touch of roasted chicory, organic Mexican coffee, St. John's Wort, and licorice root. Brewed with whole-leaf Cascade and Fuggles hops, the grains include pale, roasted & oatmeal.
