Montgomery MOAB Triple NEIPA

Montgomery MOAB Triple NEIPA. Enigma, Strata, Citra, Hallertau Blanc, Amarillo.

10.5 % ABV. 14 IBU. Montgomery Brewing, Montgomery, MN.

I’d like to see Montgomery Brewing do better with their label art. This is one of the worst I’ve ever seen. It’s like someone just fucking around in MS paint. Yuck.

But, on with the beer.

So, it’s hazy, pale yellow, slim white head.

In the nose: soft and citric and not much else. Pleasant-ish.

In the mouth: more soft, more citrus, landing rather glumly upon the palate. Devoid of bitterness, but contains plenty of juicy, fruity hop flavors. Disappointingly mild for a bigger beer, but the high ABV is a rumbling down the tracks.

I expect more from IPAs, even more from doubles, and much more out of triples. I guess the bar has been lowered.
