Wild Mind Artisan Ales Fall Black IPA

Wild Mind Artisan Ales Fall Black IPA.
5.7 % ABV. 30 IBU.
Wild Mind Artisan Ales, Minneapolis, MN.

I'm ever-so behind. This crowler was canned on October 4, purchased on November 24, drinking it on December 12. I'm sure it held up just fine, but I've got to get this stuff fresher.

Solid ebony, with a roasted tan head atop.

In the nose: Dark malt hits first, earthy, cocoa and coffee; with grassy hops rising up from under.

In the mouth: Rich, dark malt flavor dominate the palate, delivering notes of cocoa, coffee, berries, vanilla and more. Grassy, citrusy, piney hops pop in and join the mix. Nice balance in this, a good dose of hop bitterness, but never too much, meshing well with malt. Smooth, medium-bodied, easy-drinking.

Quite a nice black IPA, here

Brewed with American 2-row, malted oats, chocolate malt, chocolate wheat, and a hint of roasted barley, this black IPA was fermented with Voss Kveik and hopped with Citra, Centennial, and Simcoe hops. Fall blends bright citrus notes with hints of pine on a smooth chocolate base to create the perfect beer for an autumn night.
