Junkyard Coachgun Midwest style IPA Original Recipe

Junkyard Coachgun Midwest style IPA Original Recipe.

6.5% ABV. Junkyard Brewing, Moorhead, MN.

Junkyard made a non-hazy IPA? Have they? Or did they? From 2013, it returns. Lets drink it.

Hazy (I guess they didn’t, or couldn’t), dark golden/amber hue, slim white head.

In the nose: some minor sweetness starts it off, a bit malty. Slight citrus. A bit quiet.

In the mouth: This is all over the place. Funky, Slightly citrusy, malty sweet, with indiscernible hoppiness. The parts do not make a perfect whole. Honey Malt? Huh. Caramel-y sweetness? A bit too much. Never thought I would say it, but I’ll take any old boring NE IPA over this tangled mess any day.

Barely bitter. Lacking IPA character. Not refreshing, hardly drinkable....very disappointed.

Perfectly balanced IPA with a pleasant citrus/pinneapple hop flavor
