Big Wood Fine! IPA

Big Wood Limited Edition Taproom Series Fine! IPA. Big Wood Brewing, White Bear Lake, MN.

This beer was referenced in the Big Wood entry in Minnesota Breweries One by One. I like it so much that in addition to buying this bomber for me, I got a keg for Acadia. Oddly, I can't find it on their website, not even under Tap Room Beers. So, what does the bottle say? "A Hop Lover's Dream IPA!We couldn't hold our brewer back on this one! Loaded with Mosaic, Simcoe and Azacca hops, this unfiltered, unpasteurized IPA tropical and pears aroma with distinct citrus, mango, and papaya flavors. A touch of sweetness. A touch of maltiness. Hopped to the hilt. One sip and everything will be FINE! 6.5% ABV. IBUs 75."

Clear, copper-y / bronze coloring, big white head above.

Aroma: floral at first, then bold citrus and pine. Bright and fruity. Nice.

In the mouth: Nice bitterness up front, slightly abrasive, then mostly mellow. Hops are bold, assertive, bounce playfully on the palate. Mmm. Juicy malt holds it down. Tasty stuff. Medium-bodied, lightly bitter, fruity finish. I like this.
