Bent Paddle Bent Hop Slightly Angled India Pale Ale.
6.2% ABV, 68 IBU. Bent Paddle Brewing, Duluth, Minnesota.
Final can from the previous variety pack, the Bent Hop Remix.
Highly clouded, golden toned, slim white head.
In the nose: pleasant wave of citrus and tropical notes. Grapefruit and lemon swaddled in pineapple and mango.
In the mouth: big spank of bitterness to the palate. Slightly foggy feels, a bit of the mush in the mouth. Soft and creamy, where I’m expecting crisp and clean. A little bit of the juicy. Methinks this experiment is an attempt to reframe Bent Hop in the current fashion of soft n hazy IPAs. I say: if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.
I have a can of Bent Hop in the fridge (from the most current variety pack). I will drink that next to remind me of what I like about IPA.
"Slightly Angled" Bent Hop was born from our desire to experiment with the Bent Hop profile. We use Citra and Cashmere in the dry-hopping phase, giving it intense citrus and floral hop flavors upfront. It finishes with a smooth, tropical melon/pineapple flavor.
Slightly Angled Bent Hop is only available in the Hope Remix Adventure Pack #7 along with Citra Bump Bent Hop, Double Dry Hopped Bent Hop, and our traditional Bent Hop IPA.
