Junkyard Tony’s Big Show New England Style Double IPA

Junkyard Tony’s Big Show New England Style Double IPA.

8.1%  ABV, 40 IBU. Junkyard Brewing, Moorhead, Minnesota.

Clouded and golden toned, slim, lace leaving ivory head.

In the nose: soft and citric. Fuzzy and tropical. Grapefruit and mango, orange and pineapple.

In the mouth: juicy, fruity, bright. Just a little bit bitter, with plenty of orange, tangerine, grapefruit. Plenty of flavor pleasing the palate. Medium bodied, long hoppy, nearly-bitter finish. Tasty stuff. I can enjoy it. Lots of bright, beautiful flavors. Yum. A dum dum.

Brewed with Simcoe (+Whole Leaf), and Amarillo (+Whole Leaf), this DIPA isn't called Tony's BIG Show for nothing...it's definitely BIG! Big flavors & aromas imbue distinct orange with citrus, tropical fruit, and berries to follow. You can also find a nice woodsy earth undertone with an intense hoppiness that steals the

Junkyard The Girl With Kaleidoscope Eyes Dragonfruit Mango Sour

Junkyard The Girl With Kaleidoscope Eyes Dragonfruit Mango Sour.

6.2 % ABV, Junkyard Brewing, Moorhead, Minnesota. Pkgd 6/27/22.

Once upon a time, I would buy whatever Junkyard beer I’d come across, no matter what. That was before the ban on fruited sours, New England IPAs/hazies, and anything with marshmallow in it. So I don’t drink much Junkyard these days. This one came to me free, and can’t say no to free, so here come the notes.

Clouded, crimson hue, slim pink head.

In the nose: ultra fruity. Yeah, I’m getting the dragon in this, maybe the mango.

To the mouth: terribly sweet, with just a touch of tart. Unsure why these are labeled as sours. All dragon fruit, mango’s muddled in the mix. Full bodied and fruity sweet. Not much more to say. I can drink it, but that’ll cover my fruited Sour rationing for a good while.

Girl With Kaleidoscope Eyes is a unique fruited sour that was brewed with dragon fruit and mango! The combination of the mango and the dragon fruit gives this sour a refreshing sour with the perfect kick of sweetness!

Junkyard Quarter Pounder New England Style IPA with Citra and Mosaic hops

Junkyard Quarter Pounder New England Style IPA with Citra and Mosaic hops.

6.8% ABV, Junkyard Brewing, Moorhead, Minnesota.

Hazy, bright golden hue, large ivory head that drifts down swiftly.

In the nose: big citrus, lemon, orange peel, with a bit of berries and a whiff of melon.

In the mouth: brisk, crisp, fruity, with moderate bitterness, and a jolt of juicy. Medium bodied, mild, soft finish, flush with citrus flavors. Not too shabby, for a hazy. Hoppy flavor keeps on shining, through the fuzz.

This was found on Untappd:A smaller version of our Double IPA, Royal with Cheese, we introduce Quarter Pounder IPA!

If you are a Pulp Fiction fan, you will know the reference! Made with the oh so juicy Citra and Mosaic hops try our Quarter Pounder IPA!

But that’s not what’s on the label: Like a tasty burger, we can’t resist the combination of Citra and Mosaic hops in a New England style IPA. We get most of our tasty hops from our annual hop selection trip to Yakima, Washington, where we analyze freshly harvested hop cones and select which specific lots we’d like to use. It’s little differences like hop selection that set a beer like this apart from Otho.

“Mmm-mm, That is a tasty burger!”

Junkyard Hasta Barista Coffee Blonde

 Junkyard Hasta Barista Coffee Blonde.

4.2% ABV, Junkyard Brewing, Moorhead, MN.

Clear, amber hue, slim white head.

In the nose: earthy and sweetish coffee notes right up front, with a trace of cocoa behind. Hops wave from the background.

In the mouth: a kiss of the hops and a brisk taste of the coffee kicks it off. Body is mild and light. Drinkability is high. Coffee flavor, though somewhat slight, sticks around.

I get what they are going for, and I like it, but I wish it were a little more substantial.

In the year 2022, a smoking crater appeared in our parking lot....

Crouched in the smoking crater was a naked cyborg from the future...

The cyborg was holding a bag of coffee beans..

Coffee from the future...

The cyborg was on a mission to save the future from a world without coffee-beers...

Junkyard Garden Grove Pale Ale

Junkyard Garden Grove Pale Ale. Feat. Sultana and Bru-1hops.

5.8% ABV. Junkyard Brewing, Moorhead, MN.

Clouded (of course), bright golden hue, slim white head.

In the nose: bold citrus, plus tropical. Orange, tangerine, pineapple. A side of stone fruit, as well.

In the mouth: small bitterness at the front, then a wave of hoppy flavors. Exceptionally smooth, with high hoppiness. Medium bodied, great drinkability. A citrus bonanza. I put aside my inevitable disappointment that, again, it’s an unadvertised hazy, and just enjoy.

Hops: El Dorado, Sultana

Tasting Notes: Tropical, Citrus, Drinkable

“Hop in the van! We’re going to a funky reggae party! Here, lemme move that microwave and VCR out of your way. Yeah, that’s my dog Louie, but be careful around him, he bites sometimes. Alright, let’s crank up some music from Jamaica and hit the road!”

Junkyard Undersea World Belgian-style Golden Ale

Junkyard Undersea World Belgian-style Golden Ale.

6.8% ABV. Junkyard Brewing, Moorhead, MN.

Here's a beer I would have bought, except that I got it for free. It's by Junkyard, it's in a favorite style, and one I've never tried from this brewery. And it was only $10.99 for the 4-pack. I would have bought it, but for the getting it for free. Maybe if I like it well enough, I'll buy one. Let's see.

Bright golden hue, large, lush ivory head, clouded, though it oughtn't be.

In the nose: bubble gum and banana kick it off. Light fruit, delicate spice, ethereal yeast notes. Nice,

In the mouth: Bubblegum and banana again on the palate. Citrus speaks up, some light spice dances on the tongue. It's a bit busier in the mouth than it ought to be, should be crisper and cleaner, to be of my liking, but it's not bad at all. This would have done well with some filtering. But it's got enough of the good stuff to keep me happy.

Almost. I felt the promise of the higher ABV coming on, then falling short. And then I find out it's only 6.8% ABV, not 8%+. I don't really think about Belgian Golden Ales that aren't Belgian Strong Golden Ales. Isn't that just a Belgian Blonde Ale?

In the end, I like it, I just wish it would be making me drunker.

Come on an Undersea Water adventure with us!? Growing up Aaron loved and still loves watching the undersea adventures of explorer Jacques-Yves Cousteau. That was the inspiration for the label. If you haven't seen any of Cousteau's underwater footage, we highly recommend giving them a view. Preferably with an Undersea World Belgian Style Golden Ale in your hand.

Flavor profile: A great balance of banana, honey, and clove.

Junkyard Jowls Mango-Tangerine Blueberry Sour

Junkyard Jowls Mango-Tangerine Blueberry Sour.

5.8 % ABV, Junkyard Brewing, Moorhead, MN.

And here we have a beer that I certainly could have bought for myself if I had wanted to many months ago, but didn't, because I have been skipping the sours. How does it end up in my possession? Well, I brought too many beers to Christmas and so did my Fargo nephew Daniel, and we did a trade. And here we go....

To the eye: Thick, impenetrable, raspberry-ish look, thin red head.

In the nose: oh, so fruity. Ever so fruity. Jammy. But it's mango-tangerine and blueberry, huh? Is that right? I certainly can't pick them apart.

In the mouth: Big fruit. big pulp. Mostly sweet, some sour. Not enough to label it a "sour", not at all. I honestly can't taste anything but fruit. I mean, that's cool, that's nice, but it ain't beer no more. There's nothing beer-like about this. Nothing sour-like, either. Boy, oh, boy.

Jowls is dripping with the most extravagant fruit combination! It attacks your tastebuds with tart blueberry and juicy tangerine. Pops of mango complete this sour, giving it a full, smooth sweetness! This fierce trio is so good, it will have you swimming through dangerous waters just to get another sip!

Junkyard Laser Focus Altbier

Junkyard Laser Focus Altbier.

5.3 % ABV. Junkyard Brewing, Moorhead, MN.

And here we have the first appearance in the Nib of a 16 ounce can from Junkyard. No more crowlers. We still have some at the store, and there are a few I want to check out, so you'll still see one or two before too long. But, hail, hail, the coming of the cans. No longer forced to consume 25 ounces in one sitting, yay! It'll be cheaper by the ounce, as well. Nothing but good can come of this change.

And I chose this altbier because, as I've said, I would prefer to enjoy Junkyard's efforts at classic styles, rather than the fruited sours and New England IPAs. They usually do a pretty good job at them, and I'd like to spotlight that, whenever I can. (I didn't pick up a pilsner called Grandpa Bill's Pils because, as I've also said, pilsners and lagers are not going to be my favorite styles. Just not happening.

Clear, light brown, slim, off-white head above.

In the nose: Malt forward. Nutty. Slightly sweet. Mild hops.

In the mouth: Clean and smooth. Caramel flavors combine with nuts. Medium bodied. Excellent balance. Minor hops, mostly malty. Just on the edge of sweetness, but all is reined in with this one. Classic and cool. Tasty beer here.

I like a good altbier and this is one.

Laser Focus is a deep-copper Altbier with complex, yet extremely well-balanced flavors. The malty richness, followed by hints of crisp, fruity esters will definitely leave you wanting more.

Junkyard If I Asked You Would You Wanna? I.P.A.

Junkyard If I Asked You Would You Wanna? I.P.A. Brewed using El Dorado "Incognito" extract and Mosaic "spectrum" extract.

7.4 % ABV, Junkyard Brewing, Moorhead, MN.

Hazy, dull yellow, slim, but lasting, ivory head.

In the nose: more haze. Yeast protein sits under citrus and tropical notes.

In the mouth: Juicy fruit! Fresh and vibrant. Big and bright. Plenty of citrus, with a touch of the tropical. Grapefruit and orange, with a dash of pineapple. Plenty of hop flavor, with low bitterness. Medium bodied, long, hoppy finish.

This is a tasty beer, for sure, but I always miss the bitterness. It's just not an IPA without some bitterness.

“If I Asked You, Would You Wanna” is brighter, smoother, and more complex than any IPA you have had, thanks to the addition of a new liquid hop product we’ve never used!

You’re probably wondering what is so great about this new cutting-edge hop product? Well, think of hop pellets but in 100% pure liquid hop form… you still get all the amazing qualities you love in an IPA but with sweeter, more specific flavors and aromas and less of a leafy green backbone.

If the idea of an IPA bursting with bright, smooth, full flavors isn’t enough - This new IPA was created using a combination of two of these new, cutting-edge hop products, Incognito and Spectrum.

Junkyard Eighties Rock Label IPA

Junkyard Eighties Rock Label IPA. With HBC 586, Galaxy and Mosaic.

6.9% ABV, Junkyard Brewing, Moorhead, MN.

It's a Junkyard IPA that doesn't say New England or Hazy on the label, but that doesn't mean that it isn't. I've learned that lesson. So, why did I buy, I, the hater of the hazies? Because this one crowler got lost in the Big Cooler back stock long after it's counterparts in the Junkyard cooler on the floor sold out. Should I search desperately for a space to display this lone can, and then print a new shelf tag to replace the one I probably threw away? Or, just buy the thing, drink it up, shut up and enjoy a hazy for once. That's what I'll do. And that's what I did.

By the way, I skipped the previous two in this series, if it is a series, probably because they did say NEIPA on them. No, actually only 70's did, but 60's Rock Label did not. That one just slipped past me. Now, here's my question: this can art is clearly an allusion to the warning label prompted by the PMRC, and the art for 60's Rock Label has a beetle on it, or, a Beatle. But I never figured out the moth on the 70's Rock Label art. Can anyone fill me in? Please, I'm not worried about spoilers.

So, the beer: All hazy-like, bright yellow color, large, luminous ivory head.

In the nose: Citrus blast with a pineapple twist. Lemon and orange are in charge.

In the mouth: Just a little juicy in the start, citrusy splash on the palate. Minor bitterness (which I hate in an IPA), delicious malty flavor.  Smooth stuff, sugary and fuzzy, and an excellent hazy, but I hate hazies.

Eighties Rock Label is amped to the max with a bodacious hop combination of HBC 586, Galaxy, and Mosaic. These show-stopping hops create a full, juicy flavor profile with notes of peach and stone fruit accompanied by an incredibly soft mouthfeel!

Junkyard Hatchet Jack Baltic Porter

 Junkyard Hatchet Jack  Baltic Porter.

6.8 % ABV, Junkyard Brewing, Moorhead, MN.

I've said it before and it bears repeating: If you brew a Baltic Porter, I will drink it. Especially if all that you mostly put out is NE IPAs and fruited sours. And that's why we are here doing this, drinking a Baltic Porter from Junkyard.

Fairly black, thoroughly opaque, slim brown head.

In the nose: Roasted malt, cocoa & coffee, bittersweet, intriguing. Offering all the hallmarks I'm looking for.

In the mouth: Sweet dark malt hits first, rich and lovely, dark and delicious, ultimately turning dry. Coffee on top, bittersweet notes, then comes the cocoa. Some molasses. Never too sweet, never too anything. Full bodied, complex, dry. Wonderful beer that I thoroughly enjoyed.

The color of this beer comes from the copious amounts of caramelized barley, not from the roasted malts. This gives it a less in your face body of a typical stout. The English yeast used for this beer imparts tones of chocolate covered red fruit. Enjoy!

Junkyard Bustin' Surf Boards Kölsch

Junkyard Bustin' Surf Boards Kölsch.

5.3 % ABV, Junkyard Brewing, Moorhead, MN.

As I've said many times, I've become bored and disenchanted by all the hazies, and have no love for all the fruity sours with marshmallows and such. So, any time a brewery that only puts out beers like that sends something into to the world that belongs to quite a different category, I'll be there for it. And if Junkyard makes a Kölsch, you know I'm down. Let's crack a growler and see how it is.

Clear, bright yellow, slim white head.

In the nose: Soft, delicate, light floral hops, slight fruitiness.

In the mouth: Crisp and clean, lightly fruity, some citrus, a bit of apple, a sliver of pear. Light bodied and exquisitely refreshing and drinkable. The flavors are delicate, but delightful. Minor hops and bitterness, but with every sip, it's nothing but delicious. This one nails all the essential aspects of a Kölsch, and I'm to have tasted it. It's a straight-forward, true to style Kölsch. Cheers to Junkyard!

Bustin’ Surf Boards is a Kölsch created with primarily German ingredients and hopped with Hallertau and Saphir hops! This golden Kölsch has a brilliant clarity and a gnarly combination of crisp and biscuity flavors, followed by a slight hint of fruity goodness, making it oh-so-drinkable!

Junkyard It's Hip To Be A Cube IPA

Junkyard It's Hip To Be A Cube IPA. With 100% Hand Selected Strata Hops.

6.8% ABV. Junkyard Brewing, Moorhead, MN.

Hazed, golden, slim white head.

In the nose: citrus pulp. Soft and fuzzy.

In the mouth: Fruity, juicy, popping with citrus. Bright and bold. Citrus flavors dominate, accompanied by a dose of the tropical. Tasty hazy. Not too shabby.

You know what I've got to do, though. I've got to stop thinking that because it doesn't say "Hazy" or "New England" or "Vermont-style" on the label might mean it won't be one of those things. All of Junkyard's IPAs will always be hazies, and I'm still tired of the hazies.

I'm not quitting on Junkyard entirely, though. Just need a break from the damned hazies.

Whats cooler than being cool? Being a cube!! It’s Hip To Be A Cube is absolutely packed with a hefty dose of hand selected Strata hops, pumping this clean, drinkable IPA with juicy bursts of passionfruit & pineapple, followed by a dank backbone. This IPA wouldn’t be complete without aromas of overripe awesomeness & tropical fruit punch jumping out of this yellow hazed brew.

Junkyard Jason Waterfalls New England IPA

Junkyard Jason Waterfalls New England IPA. With Citra and Nelson Sauvignon. “Don’t Go, Jason Waterfalls!”

6.9% ABV, Junkyard Brewing, Moorhead, MN.

I abandoned my ban on hazies in order to celebrate this delicious music based pun. It’s so funny! However, it’s not exactly original. There are at least 3 other beers out there of the same name. How was I to know that this was such a popular lyrical mishearing? Enough, let’s drink a beer...

All hazed out. Dull yellow color. Small white head.

In the nose: soft and fuzzy. Citrusy. Yeasty-like.

In the mouth: A fuzzy, almost pulpy morass of an IPA. Pretty perfect rendition of the NE IPA Style, the kind I hate. As we go further, it’s brighter, happier, fruitier, white wine meets pineapple. Utterly lacking in bitterness, for those that like that, I guess.

This New England Style IPA is absolutely splashing with Citra and Nelson Sauvin Hops! Jason Waterfalls will take your tastebuds for a wild adventure starting with a cool grape and ripe berry flavor, followed by bright hints of citrus, apricot, and tangerine. The smooth, fluffy mouthfeel of this roaring IPA will leave you chasing us for more!

Junkyard Basement Business 2020 Barleywine in Rye Whiskey Barrels

Junkyard Basement Business 2020 Barleywine in Rye Whiskey Barrels. Aged in Willett Rye Whiskey Barrels.

12.7 % ABV. Junkyard Brewing, Moorhead, MN.

Clear, bright ruby coloring, slim head.

In the nose: Sweet and malty, Cherry and vanilla, oak flavors, whiskey aplenty. Lightly burnt. Leather and fruit. So much of muchness.

In the mouth: Dark fruits. Grape, plum, fig, with an edge of brandy. Brisk and brilliant. Full in the mouth, long, rich, ridiculously rewarding finish. Little bit of spicy character rolling on top the whiskey flavors. So very wonderful.

God damn, this is pretty near perfect. I've been sitting on this for nearly a year, I think, and I wish I had bought another. I need one bottle to write about, and wish I had another to share with friends some day. This is definitely one that can keep for years and years and years.

Final verdict: Certified Yum a dum dum.

Aromas begin with notes of golden raisin and orange zest. Flavors of raisin, fig, and bourbon are complimented by an overall warming spice.

Junkyard Freshness Packet Double IPA

Junkyard Freshness Packet. Double  IPA.

8.5 % ABV. Junkyard Brewing, Moorhead, MN.

Once more, tricked into breaking my boycott of the hazes. Doesn't say New England, or hazy, or Vermont-style anywhere on the label, does it? Only "Cryo blend Double IPA." But, hazy it is, they got me again.

Hazy, of course, dull golden hue,  lasting ivory head.

In the nose: soft and fuzzy, plenty of citrus, tropical tones, too. Terribly muted.

In the mouth: Powerful blast of hop flavors on the palate, at first sip. Packed with citrus and pineapple. Slight sweetness, but there's some lingering bitterness that carries throughout. Medium bodied, and continually tasty. Is this only 8.5% ABV? No, way....

My objection to the non-stop hazies falls away. I'm no longer mad that they didn't warn me. Tasty beer is good beer.

This Double IPA is exploding with freshness!! Freshness Packet is a Double IPA brewed with a dynamic mixture of Cyro Blend, Mosaic, and Sultana hops. This IPA is bursting with the freshest flavors of citrusy tropical fruits, which is supported by a stable pine finish and accompanied by a soft bitterness!

Junkyard Wicked Awesome Slurry New England-style Double IPA

Junkyard Wicked Awesome Slurry New England-style Double IPA.

8.1 % ABV. Junkyard Brewing, Moorhead, MN.

Yep, breaking the ban on the hazies once more, on purpose, paid with my own money, and the reason is I want to keep trying Junkyard beers while avoiding the overly fruity sours and such, as well as the thick stouts that send you to Diabetes Town. Let's just open it up and I promise I will judge it on what it is and what it tries to be, not what I wish it were.

Hazy ('natch), bright golden toned, large and lasting, lace-leaving head. Looking lovely.

In the nose: Blast of citrus and tropical notes into olfactories. Getting grapefruit, passionfruit, tangerine, lemon, and a splash of mango, all with a side order of fuzz.

In the mouth: Smooth and fuzzy. Mild bitterness. Fresh hoppiness. Building in intensity, emboldening with increasing alcohol. Much haze and fuzz in the mouthfeel. Just a touch of sweetness from the malt and the yeast. Medium body. Drinkable. Hoppy. Too sweet and soft and ....you can like this all you want...I won't call it a favorite.

This hoppy brute is brewed with wheat to soften its body and features the dankest Eureka and the juiciest El Dorado for a mysterious haze filled with murky, tropical goodness.

That was what I swiped from Untappd. Here's what's on the label: A mysterious shape appeared in the murky haze. And suddenly she felt the leafy claws of the...Slurry Monster! ....and then the rest....

Junkyard Father of Invention New England Style IPA

Junkyard Father of Invention New England Style IPA. With Zappa and Cryo Azacca hops.

KEEP COLD-DRINK FRESH! save the turtles, please recycle, unfiltered, may contain sediment.

7.2 % alc./vol. Pkgd 03/30/21. Junkyard Brewing, Moorhead, MN.

Here I go, breaking my boycott against the hazies one more time, and this one on purpose, all because I can't resist a tribute to Frank Zappa. Excuse me, now, while I change the background music and put on some Mothers...

Cloudy as it gets, bright and hazy golden, slim white head.

In the nose: bold citrus notes, with fierce fuzz.

In the mouth: Starts out tropical, pineapple and passion fruit. Big sweetness, hardly a trace of bitter. Smooth and groovy. Citrus joins the scene. Grapefruit and lemon. Tasty stuff. And juicy, too. Slight bitterness lurks below. Ever so slight.

I can't help it. I keep trying to try these, and my mind goes back to what I really want from an IPA, and it's not this. But, it is what it is, there's no denying it. It goes down effortlessly and imparts the requisite alcohol, but I'd like a little more hop bite, just a kick, just ...I can't fight it, I knew what I signed up for...

There's only one song to listen to while drinking this beer, and it's not "Let's Make The Water Turn Black"...

Junkyard Alleviate Triple IPA

Junkyard Alleviate Triple IPA. With Strata , Bru-1, El Dorado, and Cryo Azacca.

11.1 % ABV. Pkgd 04/16/21/ Brewed and packaged by Junkyard Brewing, Moorhead, MN.

First off, a question that's been on my mind a bit. When did breweries start with this "triple IPA" stuff? Who started it, and why? I remember the days (there I go, membering again), when you had an IPA that's above 8% ABV, and it could go up to 10 or 12 or more, but it was still a double IPA. But now we have these different strata. I brought it up with an employee of BlackStack, who not long ago released a 12 % "quadruple IPA", and he set me straight. According to the BJCP these days, he told me, the Double IPA ranges from 7.5 % to 9.5, while Triple IPA goes from 9.5 to 11.5%. Above that, they use quadruple, and where does that end.

I look at the BeerAdvocate listings for Imperial IPAs and they have not yet divided this structure. Bell's HopSlam (10%) is still called a Double, not yet re-registered as a TIPA. Dogfish Head 120 Minute  (18%) has not become a septuple, thank goodness. Scrolling through that style on BA, sorting by ABV, there are a heck of a lot of 11% & above Double IPAs out there, hundreds of them, all over the USA, and the world at large, very few of which needed to call themselves triples or quadruples or quintuples, or what have you.
These trends! I tells ya...

Enough of my prattle, let's see what a Junkyard Triple IPA is all about:

And, again, they get me. Nothing on the label about it, but...

It's all cloudy, like they all are, dull orange/golden color, mightily murky, with a slim white head.

In the nose: Hoppy, fuzzy, pineapple, orange, grapefruit and pine. All kind of leafy, green things.

In the mouth: Climbs on the palate smooth, sweet, a little chalky/fuzzy/yeasty. Fruity, juicy. Plenty of citrus and tropical notes from the hops popping on the tongue, and swimming about the palate. Lean bodied, moderate finish, mild bitterness. Starts to get sharp as the looming alcohol looms. And then it hits, and it's good. Nice and mellow.

Ultimately, though, it's too sweet and fuzzy and has almost no bitterness, which is what I want in a double, or triple IPA, not just huge alcohol. I need huge hops, too. Maybe that's just me. They tricked me, man.

It's not what I want from a "triple IPA", but I'll enjoy it all the same.

Kick back, relax, and rid the stress of the week with Alleviate TRIPLE IPA. Our brewers loaded this beer with Strata, Bru-1, El Dorado, and Azacca. This IPA boasts huge aromas of melon and is complimented by tropical flavors of mango and pineapple with a soft, smooth finish.

Junkyard Simcoe Single Hopped Double IPA

Junkyard Simcoe Single Hopped Double IPA.

8.5 % ABV, 100 IBU, Junkyard Brewing, Moorhead, MN.

It's clear (if just a little, lightly hazed), bright golden color, slim white head.

In the nose: Bold and brilliant. Screaming Simcoe. Citrus, pine, stone fruit, and, yeah, a good dose of the litter box. Simcoe in your beer? You're gonna get some cat pee.

In the mouth: Juicy, light bitterness, fresh hop flavor. Clean, lightly malty, delicious. Alcohol provides no hindrance just yet. Drinks down like a dream. The citrus and stone fruit is popping in the flavor. Tropical? That's here, too. Just a little bit of mango in my life, to match the grapefruit and orange. Here comes the ABV, tasting like candied fruits, gummi bears, grapefruit zest, ...tasty stuff, indeed. I'm digging it.

This double IPA is hopped with all "Simcoe" hops. This hop variety boasts a medley of tropical fruits, reminiscent of tangerine, mango, and papaya. Pale base malts and a low final gravity give this beer a dry finish.
