Pipeworks Forest Fauna Spruce Tip IPA.
6.7% ABV, Pipeworks Brewing, Chicago, Illinois.
Mostly clear, bright golden hue, slim white head.
In the nose: fresh bold, citrus and pine, lemon and orange…no spruce yet.
In the mouth: we’ll, here we go. Nice spruciness on the palate, combined with pronounced hop pines, though low to moderate bitterness. Medium bodied, fairly easy drinking. The spruce is more delicate than I imagined, but I appreciate that about it all the same. Who needs that much spruce in their beer?
“India Pale Ale with centennial hops, simcoe hops, and spruce tips.”
