Fair State Lactobac 12

Back in May, I helped put together a fun night of sour sampling at Acadia Cafe,  all featuring Minnesota breweries: 2 Wooden Souls from Indeed, 2 from Bemidji Brewing, a rare appearance by them in the cities, Surly Pentagram, Lake Monster's Sour Brown Ale, and 2 Lactobacs from Fair State, #11 and #12. The former was gone too quickly from the taps for me to take notes, but I managed to scribble something about the later. And now I'm going to decipher these notes from May 31 (I think....).

Lactobac 12, 4% ABV, 10 IBU.

Hazy, dull gold color, solid ivory head.

Sour & funky nose, lactic acid meets a cornucopia of fruit.

Lemongrass comes on strong, matches the citrus zest...ginger roars in, large and in charge, getting tarter and spicier as we go in. Tart & tangy. Lean bodied, clean and refreshing.

Here's what they want you to know about it: The 12th installment of the LÄCTOBÄC series is a sour wheat brewed with fresh Lemon juice, Lemongrass, and Ginger added. Spicy, fresh, tart, and herbal. pH 3.20. We suggest drinking outside.
