Wild Mind Lost Shoreline Porter. 6.5% ABV. American porter with coconut. Wild Mind Artisan Ales, Minneapolis, MN.
To the eye: nice and brown, this one. Full, blossoming roasted tan head above. Looking good.
In the nose: Slightly sweet, nutty, toasty...oh, here it comes, the coconut. Starts small, but builds up. Some cocoa notes add to the dark malt mix.
In the mouth: Starts with a nice amount of bitterness and large amount of dark malt. In no time flat, along comes the coconut. And it's pretty nice, not too much, not too little, just right. Long lasting finish, full body. Tasty. And not bad at all. Good stuff. Go out there and drink it.
Wild Mind Artisan Ales specializes in wild, sour, farmhouse, and rustic ales that are created using barrel aging, blending, and our own wild Minnesota yeast. The Lost Shoreline is a robust, complex porter brewed with dry, unsweetened coconut flakes. A heavy malt add rich chocolate flavors to the sweetness of the coconut to provide the delicious, tropical escape you've been looking for — without even leaving Minnesota.
