Stone Tangerine Express IPA, an India Pale Ale packed with whole tangerine and pineapple. 6.7% ABV. 75 IBU. Stone Brewing, CA.Lightly hazed, amber/crimson appearance, lush, white, lace-leaving head. Looking good.
In the nose: a lively mix of bitter and sweet, tons of tropical tones.
In the mouth: Spanks the tongue with the bitter slap, then the sweet fruit rolls in. You want tangerine (and pineapple) in your IPA, you’ve got it. Floods the mouth with flavor. Bitter hop flavors hang in there for the long haul. Lean malt component, just as we like it. Delicious.
I dig this, like I dig every IPA Stone ever releases. It’s a foregone conclusion. They make an IPA, I’m gonna like it.
