In the nose: Citrus and pine apparent. Starts out small, starts to widen, grow, expand. Pungent and powerful. Starts out slightly sweet and builds into candy-ish.
In the mouth: Pow! Now, this is a triple IPA. Going straight past double, hitting the alcohol and the abundant hops and the luscious malt hard, and not about to stop. Bam! Bitter and malty-rich. All manner of fruit, tangerine and pineapple, melon and lemon, grapefruit and mango. Hop bitterness lays it on thick, with a major assist from juicy malt flavors.
This is a lesson in complexity. Big and noisy, but tasting terrific, too. 12 %?? Whoa. This is an awfully nice triple IPA. I'm digging it.
The third in our series of IPAs brewed exclusively with Citra hops, a Triple IPA. Aromas of pineapple and mango with juicy melon flavors.
