Pipeworks Unichrome Double IPA.
9.1 % ABV, Pipeworks Brewing, Chicago, IL.
Clear, bright golden hue, large, lush, creamy ivory head.
In the nose: bold citrus and pine, vibrant and hoppy as all get out.
In the mouths: starts out brash and bitter, with citrus and stone fruit joining the party. Bitterness hangs on the palate, but it’s more mild and mellow. Medium bodied, long, fruity/hoppy finish. Slight sticky, dank sweetness, just a kiss of the malt. Wonderfully resinous.
And the booze starts booming.
This is what I want in a double IPA (aside from a little more dryness) and I am happy that Pipeworks took a break from the hazies to release it.
Once again, this is can #4 And I wish I had more. Good thing there’s more to be found.
Unichrome is a robot unicorn made of chrome BUT ALSO a Double IPA with lush aromas of coconut, guava, and tangerine
