Sisyphus Cake Beer 2019

Sisyphus Brewing opened up in August of 2014. A year later, they celebrated their first anniversary with an imperial stout brewed with 24 chocolate birthday cakes, their first Cake Beer. It's now an annual tradition. Why not review it again, 3 years later?

Sisyphus Cake Beer 2019. 9.5 % ABV. 51 IBU. Sisyphus Brewing, Minneapolis, MN.

Solid blackness. Slim brown head.

In the nose: Chocolate. Molasses. Fudge. Intense sweetness. Oh, yeah, this is gonna be a cake beer.

In the mouth: Rich. Dark. Massive malt. Sweet. Cake-y. Not a trace of hops to be found, and I'm not missing it. Gets a little thinner toward the end, but the deliciousness never leaves. Quite a tasty treat!
It's a gimmick, surely, but you can't debate the delicious.
