Fulton Snow Emergency Stout.
6 % ABV, 30 IBU. Fulton Beer, Minneapolis, MN.
Of course, I waited until the first major snowfall to take my notes on this one. Why not? It's still coming down out there. Glad I'm inside, staying warm and drinking beer.
Dark brown, nearly black, almost fully opaque, with a slim, brown head.
In the nose: Roasted malt, cocoa and cream. Light nuttiness.
In the mouth: Smooth, slightly sweet, full-on creamy. Mostly cocoa, and minor coffee. Low bitterness, high malt. Just a little bit of fruity. Smooth and easy-going, while hearty, bold and full-bodied. Not too shabby, there.
Snowed in? Car won't start? No problem! Hunker down and wait it out with a Snow Emergency Stout.
