Surly Brewing Company, Minneapolis/Brooklyn Center, MN.
Solid blackness, utterly impenetrable, thick and lasting cocoa/tan head. Looking good.
In the nose: Soft. Milky, creamy, cocoa. Caramel tones. A little bit sweet. Nice.
In the mouth: Creamy stuff. Mostly malty, lower bitterness. Smooth and tasty. Light roast, overwhelmingly easy-going. Nice stuff. And you can drink it.
An easy-drinking stout with all the character you want paired with a lighter body. Roastiness and a pleasant, milk chocolate-like sweetness are in perfect balance, with a smooth, satisfying finish.
