Able Planes of Existence Mega Vanilla Stout

Able Planes of Existence Mega Vanilla Stout. Rested on Madagascar vanilla.

13 % ABV, Able Seedhouse + Brewery, Minneapolis, MN. 

Complete and thorough blackness, absolute opacity, rich brown head of foam holding down the fort. 

In the nose: roasted malt, chocolate and caramel, molasses, a hint of smoke, a touch of anise. Much going on here, much appreciated.

In the mouth: Comes on smooth and bittersweet, with sweetness slowly gaining the upper hand. More cocoa, some coffee, and the vanilla is perking up, unperceived in the aromatics. Big chocolate flavors dominate. Full bodied, full flavored, and not overtly vanilla, as I feared. 

Very nice. One of the best Ables I've ever had.
