Invictus Horror of the Shade Russian Imperial Stout

Invictus Horror of the Shade Russian Imperial Stout.

8.1 % ABV, 60 IBU. Invictus Brewing, Blaine, MN.

Full-on ebony hue, beneath a rich, brown head of foam. Looking good.

In the nose: Deep, lush cocoa and coffee. Malt forward, of course.

In the mouth: Roasted malts, rich, bittersweet, then dry. Dark fruits, chocolate. Full body. Plays it safe, though. Here we have an RIS that sticks well within the fence and goes no further. Not dangerous in the slightest. Mildly expressive. Some layers of char and chocolate and cherries sneak by, but this is by far one of the safest Imperial Stouts I've ever had.

Horror of the Shade is black as night with a deep, silky, smooth body and dark roasted malts to add notes of chocolate and coffee. Be careful walking in the woods on a dark night for you might find the Horror Of The Shade!
