In the nose: A little bit of funky stone fruit at the start, powerful peach and apricot. Hop flavors lurk below.
In the mouth: Juicy, indeed. Pungent, lightly tart, increasingly bitter. Medium bodied, and fairly easy drinking. Lively and refreshing at once. Just a touch of sweet, with enough hop bitterness to match it. This is quite tasty. I certainly wouldn't turn one down.
Brewed with 2-row pale, red wheat and acidulated malt, San Franpsycho® IPA pours a hazy golden straw color with a white fluffy head. The mouthfeel is creamy and smooth yet mildly effervescent with a hint of back-end tartness. San Franpsycho® IPA is fermented with a mixed culture of yeast to create a unique and fruity estery nose, unlike any other IPA from Anchor. Anchor brewers add peach and apricot fruit puree during the secondary fermentation, giving the beer a pleasant hint of sweetness and abundantly fruity aromas of peach, apricot, and pineapple with a bit of funky dank.
