Boom Island Boom Light Blonde Ale

Boom Island Boom Light. Blonde Ale.
4.2 % ABV. 25 IBU.
Boom Island Brewing, Minnetonka, MN.

Clear, bright golden color, slim white head.

In the nose: sugar, yeast, malt. Belgian blonde is going on. Cereal, grain, minor hops. Pleasant, inoffensive, yada, yada.

In the mouth: Lightness personified. Goes down with utmost ease. Light and delightful. Somewhat. Waiting for further flavors. Light bodied, easy drinking. Continued grainy/malty flavors, minor hops, not much else. Eh. Okay beer and you can drink it.

Boom Island has picked up stakes and moved their shop from North Minneapolis to nice, safe Minnetonka, and their new taproom, which I have yet to visit, is far more popular there than the old location ever was. If you've ever worked in a taproom, you'd know that the most commonly asked question is: "what's your lightest beer." I'm glad that in order to satisfy this inquiry (which could have been done with Witness Wit, I guess), they didn't simple put out a lame light lager.

Clean, crisp and refreshing, this blond ale is the perfect go-to for easy drinking. It’s light on hop bitterness and full flavored.
