Utepils Minnator Doppelbock.
7.2 % ABV. 20 IBU. Utepils Brewing, Minneapolis, MN.
It's no secret that I love a good doppelbock. Will this be one? There's no suspense, really, I have a good deal of faith in Utepils.
Clear, tawny, caramel-toned hue, slim beige head.
In the nose: Malt is way ahead on this one. Caramel and toffee aplenty. Sweet, but balanced.
In the mouth: rich and hearty. More malty deliciousness. Brown sugar, toffee and caramel, lightly toasty. Full bodied and fully flavored. Warm, rich, nearly a meal in itself. Classic, well-done Doppelbock in every way. Good job, Utepils. I will be back for more.
