12 % ABV. Voodoo Brewing, Meadville, PA.
Pitch black, complete opacity, slim to no head.
In the nose: Rich and malty, cocoa and caramel, molasses and dark fruits. Deep.
In the mouth: Dark and delicious, without reaching heights (depths) of richness and viscosity. A bit light bodied for a full bodied beer. Finish is a bit on the quick side, although malt remains king and the flavor persists. Cocoa, caramel, and toffee are here, but it begs for more. It's an RIS that doesn't quite go all the way. Leaves us wanting. Alas. Color me disappointed.
